Carmen Soriano photoAdrián Fernández Sánchez (Madrid , Spain, 1990)

He studied Geography and Territorial Planning between 2009 and 2014 and completed a Master Degree in Environmental Geology specialised in Geological Hazards in 2015, both in the Complutense University of Madrid.


From 2014 to nowadays, he has been working giving GIS lessons in private schools and for individual students. He has been working, as well, in the natural disasters planning by applying GIS and numerical models for river floods in the Alcazar de San Juan (Ciudad Real, Spain) Emergency Plan.

He has some experience skills in the research field having developed an automatic GIS tool for searching lost people in mountain, presented in the GvSIG congress of Valencia in 2016 and developing it since then in the Spanish Red Cross Rescue Team Group of Guadalajara.

Also, since 2016, he is completing his academic training with PhD studies for the
University Complutense of Madrid in the topic of climate change influence on tropical glaciers. His doctoral thessis is being carried on the Nevado Sajama, Bolivia's tallest mountain, where he is also getting research papers in the field of Climate Change.


Fernando ContrerasFernando Contreras Rodrigo (Lleida. Spain - 1967)

Director of the excavations at Sanitja and of the Ecomuseum de Cap de Cavalleria since 1997. President of the association "Sa Nitja. Gestión del Patrimonio Mediterráneo" founded in 1993. He obtained the Prize Fundació "la Caixa" in 1992: "Revalorització Ciutats Romanes de Catalunya i Illes Balears". FPI U.A.B. Internship 1991-95. His research fields are: Romanization in Minorca; Archaeological software; Cultural management; Museum development for the heritage of Sanitja and the Cap de Cavalleria. Director of the excavations in Mago (Pla Mirall, 2000-2002), Iamo (Correos, 1999), and Sanisera (Prospection 1993-1995, Excavation 1996-1998). His projects involving Minorca's cultural heritage include: Defense Tower in Fornells (CIM – 1996), Ecomuseum de Cap de Cavalleria (Leader II – 1997), Cavalleria Lighthouse (Futures – 1998).

 


Marta del MastroMarta del Mastro (Barcelona, Spain, 1992).

She's an underwater archaeologist since 2010. She studied Archaeology in the University of Barcelona (Spain), and focused in maritime archaeology during the MS in Nautical and Underwater archaeology at University of Cadiz, which dissertation was about the "The ports system of Almería, the analysis of a medieval port through the analysis of the maritime cultural landscape". She also has a degree in GIS focused in archaeology (CSIC – University of Santiago de Compostela).

She has been participating as an archaeologist in some projects around the Mediterranean, in both land and underwater, and in several national and international institutions (universities, museums or private companies). She has also participated in international congresses about maritime archaeology and has some experience in maritime archival documentation.  

She is currently working on a research about the maritime cultural landscape during Middle Ages,
focused in al-Andalus period, and the study of the ports system.

 


Andrés MartínAndrés Martín Aguilera (Melilla, Spain, 1977)

Andres is a Padi Open Water in EFR Instructor and a Nitrox, enriched air Instructor.

In the last five years, he has assisted several diving clubs on Menorca to offer diving courses at different learning levels.

As a member of Sanisera Archaeology School, his main responsibility is to provide to the new underwater students with the license of OPEN WATER diver as well as the care and regular maintenance of all the equipment of diving of the Sanisera School. He will accompany the students during the dives of the learning courses in order to ensure their safety.

He is passionate about the underwater world. Every year spends his free time in diving at the best sites that the world offers. Until now he has been diving in Thailand, Dominican Republic, Kenya and Mexico -Cancun and Cenotes-.
